Holds

Current students and employees of COTR may place holds on books, videos and DVDs which are checked out to another patron or located at another college campus.  If the item is checked out, placing a hold will prohibit the person who currently has the item from renewing it.

Community patrons may place holds on items located at another campus and the item will be shipped to the patron's home campus library.

To place a hold, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the item in the library catalogue.
  2. Click on Title to see the item's full information including availability.
  3. Click on the Place Hold button at the top right of the screen (in the blue bar).
  4. You will be prompted to login at this point (see directions for setting up your library catalogue account if needed).
  5. The hold screen will display.  Edit the pick-up location if necessary.
  6. Click on Place Hold.

NOTE: Items can have more than one hold at a time; you may not be next in line!
